In an effort to proactively assist Local Education Authorities (LEA) in planning and implementing strategies to ensure
their schools are technology ready for supporting online assessment, Common Core, and embedded 21st Century
electronic resources, the Louisiana Department of Education has produced a technology footprint for each LEA who
submitted data within the Technology Readiness Tool in order to provide them with a picture of their current state of
technology readiness.
The footprint has been designed as a living document that will be updated and enhanced as the state and its schools move
forward to achieve their online assessment goals in collaboration with the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for
College and Careers (PARCC).
Sixty-seven districts and charters participated in the Technology Readiness Tool collection. The survey was conducted
entirely online and addressed five issues: devise specification readiness, devise-to-test readiness, network and technical
infrastructure readiness, staffing and training readiness, and facility readiness.
