Louisiana PARCC Daily Update - Friday, March 20, 2015

Testing Information:

  • More than 320,000 Louisiana students completed the PARCC Phase I assessments for grades 3-8.
  • More than 1,200 school sites administered PARCC tests this week.
  • More than 5,315,000 PARCC tests have been administered thus far this spring.
  • In other PARCC states, on Thursday, test administration numbers were as follows:
    • 217,200 tests administered in Illinois
    • 178,500 tests administered in New Jersey
    • 92,900 tests administered in Maryland
    • 91,500 tests administered in Arkansas
    • 64,700 tests administered in Mississippi
    • 36,700 tests administered in New Mexico
    • 29,400 tests administered in Massachusetts
    • 23,000 tests administered in Ohio
    • 21,800 tests administered in Rhode Island
    • 8,300 tests administered in Washington, DC

 Increasing Access:

  • More than 1,750 Louisiana students completed a Spanish translation of the math exam.

LDOE Guidance and Support:

  • Number of emails received and answered via the assessment inbox since January 1, 2015 - More than 1,860
  • Number of calls received and answered via the assessment hotline since March 2, 2015 - 318

Today's Test Session: Math Performance Based Assessment (PBA)
(Estimated time students will test is 50 minutes)

Like yesterday, students completed a constructed-response reasoning and modeling tasks. Student responses to these tasks must justify and explain their thinking and required applying their mathematical knowledge and procedural skills in real-word problem solving.​
