BATON ROUGE, La. - In case you missed it, two south Louisiana educators received the surprise of a lifetime this week when they each received the Milken Educator Award and were presented with $25,000 checks. Joseph J. Davies Elementary School teacher Catherine Randall and Jeanerette Elementary School principal Devon Willis-Jones both thought they were attending school wide assemblies to talk with students about recent increases in student performance, but were quickly surprised when Lowell Milken, of the Milken Family Foundation, announced each as a winner of the prestigious award and the cash prize.
