2014 Statewide Superintendents Collaboration

The Statewide Superintendents Collaboration is an opportunity for district staff to collaborate with peers on the state’s most significant education initiatives. The event will be held on June 4th and 5th, following the Teacher Leader Summit in New Orleans. This event will include both state- and district-led sessions meant to share best practices across all of the Focus Areas outlined in the District Planning Guide. These focus areas are:

  • School Leader & Teacher Learning Targets
  • Assessment & Curriculum
  • School & Teacher Collaboration
  • Compass Observation & Feedback
  • Pathway to College & Career
  • Align Resources

State-led sessions will focus on supporting curriculum implementation, creating and managing an effective early childhood network, and preparing students for college and career through the high school years.

The LDOE will pay for registration and training costs, as well as breakfasts and lunches during the events. Districts will be responsible for all travel costs associated with the event. There are many hotel options in the area and participants can begin making their reservations now. We have compiled a list of hotels that are offering a discounted rate in conjunction with the event. Districts should consider reserving a block of rooms for their cohort and ask for a discounted rate, mentioning the state events.

Registration is now open in Coursewhere. Please check this page often and direct all questions about the Superintendents Collaboration event to DistrictSupport@la.gov and questions about the Teacher Leader event to LouisianaTeacherLeaders@la.gov
