Overview

Teachers set goals that identify student learning expectations for the most important content in a given subject.  These goals reflect a commitment on the part of the teacher to use effective instructional practices and quality assessment plans that support students in meeting the identified expectations.  This module guides teachers as they consider the goal setting process used to measure their impact on student learning.

Principal Guidebook Connection: Part III – Step 4: Differentiate Teacher Support

Overview

Using data from progress monitoring, principals determine how to best support each teacher throughout the year. This module is designed to guide principals as they seek to answer the following questions to differentiate support so that all students achieve:

  • Is the teacher teaching the right content in the right way?
  • Are students learning at a level necessary for success?
  • What are the potential barriers to success for the teacher?
  • What can this teacher learn from the successes taking place in other classrooms?
