Louisiana’s Strategy for Improving Struggling Schools

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that districts develop plans to improve student achievement in their persistently struggling schools, and the law requires the state to competitively grant funds to districts with strong, evidence-based plans. Research indicates that nearly every effective model of school transformation includes some external support.

The Department has released a Request for Information (RFI) to solicit proven school partners, from within Louisiana and across the country, interested in partnering with Louisiana school districts. To learn more about Louisiana’s strategy for school redesign, read LDE’s ESSA Framework document.
