All students can learn.

Louisiana Believes starts with the premise that all students can achieve high expectations regardless of their background, family income or zip code.

Louisiana is raising academic standards to ensure each and every student graduates from high school, on-time, with the knowledge and skills to succeed in college and professional careers.  The state has adopted more rigorous Common Core State Standards in English language arts and math, and incorporated literacy standards in social studies. While students will not be fully assessed on the more challenging academic standards until Spring 2015, schools have already begun teaching to these new expectations.
