Parents know what's the best education for their child and should be provided with quality choices.

Louisiana Believes is based on the premise that families should be allowed to choose the school that is best for their child. While all students should be held to the same rigorous expectations for achievement, not all students excel in the same environment with the same instruction.

Louisiana offers families multiple pathways for students to prepare for college and careers. The state has 1303 public schools, including 104 charter schools. Under the Louisiana Scholarship Program, parents can also apply for a state-funded scholarship to attend the school of their choice, including private and religious schools. Additionally, students with disabilities may be eligible for a state subsidy for tuition to a private school that best meets their needs.
