BEAUTIFICATION OLYMPICS SCHEDULED FOR SARAH T. REED HIGH, JULY 19 - 21

NEW ORLEANS – Recovery School District (RSD) and Sarah T. Reed High School leaders have scheduled a Beautification Olympics – a three-day event focused on improving and beautifying the appearance of the Sarah T. Reed campus before the start of the 2012-2013 school year. The school cleanup is scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 19 – 21.

The school invites staff, parents, and community members to join them in the school beautification project. To date, the school has received commitments from AmericaCorp, New Orleans East Charter Academies (NOECA), the Vietnamese American Young Leaders Association of New Orleans (VAYLA-NO), and the Lutheran Group.

Interested volunteers can meet event organizers at the school, 5316 Michoud Blvd. on any of the scheduled clean up days between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. For additional information or questions about the school’s activities, contact Terri Payton at terri.payton@rsdla.net or (504) 914-1019.

Additionally, the New Orleans East Charter Association (NOECA) is hosting an open house to introduce Sarah T. Reed’s new principal Michael McKenzie on Wednesday, August 1, at 5:30 p.m. at Reed High School. Community members are invited to attend.
