Louisiana PARCC Daily Update - Thursday, March 19, 2015

Testing Information:

  • More than 320,000 Louisiana students will participate in the PARCC assessments for grades 3-8 this week.
  • More than 1,200 school sites will administer PARCC tests this week.
  • More than 4,943,500 PARCC tests have been administered thus far this spring.
  • In other PARCC states, on Monday, test administration numbers were as follows:
    • 249,100 tests administered in Illinois
    • 236,800 tests administered in New Jersey
    • 109,400 tests administered in Maryland
    • 100,900 tests administered in Arkansas
    • 62,400 tests administered in Mississippi
    • 46,400 tests administered in Ohio
    • 40,700 tests administered in New Mexico
    • 29,700 tests administered in Massachusetts
    • 22,600 tests administered in Rhode Island
    • 9,400 tests administered in Washington, DC

 

Increasing Access:

  • More than 1,750 Louisiana students completed a Spanish translation of the math exam today.

 

LDOE Guidance and Support:

  • Number of emails received and answered via the assessment inbox since January 1, 2015 - More than 1,820
  • Number of calls received and answered via the assessment hotline since March 2, 2015 - 288

 

Today's Test Session: Math Performance Based Assessment (PBA)

(Estimated time students will test is 55 minutes)

During today's math unit, students will complete reasoning and modeling tasks. Student responses to these tasks must justify and explain their thinking and will require applying their mathematical knowledge and procedural skills in real-word problem solving.
